I modified the nameservers, how long does it take for my site to be online?
The propagation of nameservers can be an unpleasant thing if immediate visibility of the site online is required.
After changing the nameservers associated with a domain, they must propagate globally through DNS servers. The DNS propagation process can take between 2 and 24 hours, depending on several factors, such as the TTL (Time To Live) settings of the domain or the update speed of DNS servers in different regions.
It is important to understand that DNS propagation is not a simultaneous process globally. During this transition period, it is possible for the site to be accessible from certain locations where the DNS information has been updated, but inaccessible from others where these updates have not yet been propagated.
If you encounter difficulties accessing the site during propagation, we recommend that you:
- Clear your browser's cache to ensure that old information is not being used.
- Use a public DNS service, such as Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4), to check the DNS update.
- Wait for the completion of the process, as it is controlled by the global DNS infrastructure and cannot be expedited.
