Changing the holder's data of a .ro domain involves three simple steps. The procedure presented is structured for better clarity in the order of executing the steps:

1. The desire to change the account holder's details is communicated to the commercial operators and the pro forma invoice generated in this regard is paid;

Note
: Changing the domain holder's information resets the validity period of a domain to the number of years paid for the change, voiding any remaining active period.
Example: The domain still has 3 years of active period left and the invoice is paid with the modification of the data for only 1 year. The domain will be active after the procedure is completed for only 1 year and not for 3 as it was originally.
The domain will have the new holder's information for the entire duration of its validity - after the 1 year period expires, the initial information will not be restored. Only the validity period of the domain is extended.

2. You need to provide us with the details of the future owner to whom the transfer will be made. The necessary data to initiate the transfer are:

In the case of individuals:

  • First Name, Last Name
  • CNP
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Complete address (Country, County, City, Postal Code, Address)

In the case of legal entities:

  • Legal entity name
  • The VAT number of the legal entity
  • Registration number in the trade register
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Full address (Country, County, City, Postal Code, Address)

3. The last step involves providing the usage rights transfer key. This key can only be obtained by the domain holder from the domains management panel ROTLD. If you need assistance with this procedure, you can follow the .ro domain transfer tutorial, however when selecting the key you wish to generate, instead of "Transfer to another Registrar" select "Transfer usage rights".
