The first step you need to take to ensure your site is indexed by Google is to submit the sitemap to Google Search Console. A sitemap is a file that lists all the pages on your site and provides information about when each page was last updated.

By submitting the sitemap to Google Search Console, we communicate to Google that the site exists and we want it to be indexed. This helps Google discover and begin crawling the website, and subsequently initiate the process of ranking the pages in search results.

Steps for indexing in Google Search Console:

1. You register for a Google Search Console account;

2. Verify ownership of the site by following the verification instructions provided by Google;

3. Add the website to Google Search Console;

Google Search Console

4. Navigate to the "Sitemaps" section in Google Search Console;

5. Submit the sitemap by entering the URL in the "Add a new sitemap" form and press the "Submit" button.

After the sitemap is submitted, Google will begin the crawling and indexing process. It may take some time for all pages to be indexed, but by submitting the sitemap, an important first step is taken towards improving the site's visibility in search results.
